"Somewhere Between" A documentary film about Chinese Adoption

There is a beautiful, meaningful film that is in the works about four teenaged girls, adopted as babies, exploring the question "Who am I?"  As they search for their identities we are allowed to go on this journey with them, and as someone who was lucky enough to see the film before it was even finished -- it is a quite a journey.  It is the through these girls' stories we can learn so much about our own daughters -- and for everyone to be able to see this film, its director, Linda Goldstein Knowlton, needs to raise funds for its distribution.  She has a campaign that has 20 days left to raise the money needed so that she can get mass distribution for the project. Check out the trailer at www.somewherebetweenmovie.com -- or go to http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/677091478/somewhere-between-a-documentary-film, and take a look at Linda's message to everyone.  You can get involved by pledging as little as $10.00 or just posting on your facebook.  Or for $35.00 you can get a dvd of the film.  I saw the film a few weeks before we received our referral of our incredible daughter -- and I promise it is a worthy project that should be seen by all.

Happy Birthday M + E -- and Happy 18 Month B'day Eliza

Last year on 3/16/11, we were in NY celebrating our niece's birthdays when we heard the news that the Chinese Center for Adoption Affairs was beginning to match families with their children.  We knew we might be in this next group of referrals so we took it as the best sign EVER that we might be matched with our baby on such a special day.  Happy day incredible girls!  And happy 18 month birthday to you baby Eliza!   Seems like yesterday our nieces were just babies -- and seems like forever that you've been a part of our family, sweet Eliza.

This was last year's blog post: 3/16 is the birthday of 2 of the most incredible girls I know, my nieces. It is also the day the CCAA (Chinese Center of Adoption Affairs) started matching families for this next batch of referrals. We are in this next group of families. Lucky us. Lucky day.

Order in the Universe

Yes, order has been restored.  Lulu is back from her LONG vacation.  We had a great couple of weeks but everyone really missed her.

The Zoo

Everyone has colds.  That could explain Eliza's moodiness earlier in the week.  Let's just say after a decent night's sleep and a 75 degree day at the Zoo -- she was back to herself again.  Can't wait for cold and flu season to be over....
