At the park with Frederick

I know.  No Frederick to be seen.  I was too distracted catching up that I never took a picture for the 1 minute Eliza actually played with her playdate.  Still, wanted to post some pics from today -- and remember it was the day we ate hummus with Frederick (and his lovely mom).

Happy Birthday Eliza

It was a perfect day.  So simple.  So low key.  Just our little family.  Best of all, Eliza seemed to know it was all about her.   She enjoyed every minute of her first birthday.

Knock, Knock. Who's There? Eliza

Eliza wanted to get inside the dollhouse.  First she tried to get her head inside but it didn't quite fit.  This came next...

Firsts

Today is Jackson's first day of preschool.  I asked him to take a picture with me on the jungle gym and he pointed to the car 5 feet away and said "sit there" while he climbed with another little boy.  So over me.  So ready.   Pics to come.

And today while the excited, proud, nervous and a-little-sad parents dropped off Jackson at school, Eliza went to her first gym class with Luchy at the gym that Jackson started taking classes at when he was 1.  So happy.

Labor Day Weekend

Thank you to all our amazing guests -- some who stayed the night and some who just graced us with their presence for an hour or two. And to those who hosted us, a big thank you. Happy birthday, Chris!

Searching for Airconditioning...

I'd like to say last weekend was all about "culture" but really we were just looking for places to run around with lots of air conditioning.  We went to the science museum downtown (lots of fun) and the Gene Autry Museum and stumbled upon this interactive exhibit -- a Chinese family's home in Los Angeles in the late 1800's.
