We've Made Contact

Eliza has accomplished so much in such a short amount of time but the hand to mouth connection has eluded her.  She can't seem to figure out how to get the food from her hand to her mouth and has never gone through the developmental stage of exploring with her mouth.  On one hand, it's great.  When she is holding a small lego of Jackson's and I have no idea how she got it, I don't need to worry. She won't put it in her mouth.  But I do want her to make the connection.  Today, with the help of her very smart Auntie, she finally did it.  Forget Cherrios, she just wanted some decent bread...

Nothing better than camp

Happy 10 Month Birthday, Baby!

Eliza has been with us for less than 2 months.  On May 25th, when she was placed in our arms, she could not sit up or roll over.  She barely made a sound.  When she cried it was barely audible like a tiny little kitten.  She leaned away from us and barely cuddled.

One and half months later, Eliza is sitting up, crawling, waving, clapping, cuddling, and eating like the daughter of a chef.  In the past month she's gained 2 pounds (she went from the 20th percentile to the 50th).  She sings to music and says "da da da" all the time.  She was happy 2 months ago, but now she belly laughs.  She is one loud girl.

Today, Eliza sat up on her own, said "ma ma ma,"  and called our car insurance agent on my telephone after emptying my entire purse.   Can't wait for tomorrow.

Gym Class

Mei Mei at the Hollywood Bowl

The Hollywood Bowl has a great concert series for kids during the summer. Jackson started going when he was under a year and now it's Eliza's turn.  She kicks her feet and dances to the music.

I Heart Music Class

Eliza just started 2 classes and could not be a more enthusiastic student.  During music classes she kicks and vocalizes like crazy.  She's a wild woman!  She is also taking a gym class and her commando crawl is getting pretty fast.  This girl is driven when she wants to get to something.
